Google has just announced it’s next big update to how it ranks websites. It’s called “Mobilegedon”, and it targets non-mobile friendly websites. What is Mobilegedon?
Basically this means Google is redoing the formula they use to rank websites to favor mobile friendly websites. It’s estimated that more than 50% of all Google searches are currently performed on mobile devices. So naturally Google only wants to show content that is going to look really good on mobile devices. The problem is that many websites are not “responsive”. These non-mobile friendly websites were only designed to look good on a desktop or laptop computer, but don’t look very nice on smartphones and tablets.
What Does This Mean for You:
In a nutshell, if your website isn’t mobile friendly, then it’s going to hurt your ranking in Google.
